| Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. is a multicultural sorority that was founded October 24, 1986 at California State University, Sacramento. Twenty seven lovely ladies, also known as our founding mothers, felt there was a need for an organization that promoted multiculturalism, scholastic excellence, instilled the desire for self improvement and involvement in the local community. 20 years later, LSG has a total of 1519 members (as of 8.16.2007) from 21 collegiate chapters across California, which makes LSG the LARGEST MULTICULTURAL SORORITY ON WEST COAST! | | |

The lack of diversity and support on Chico State's campus brought eight lovely ladies together to establish Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. here at Chico State on October 4, 1997. LSG represented everything that these ladies needed for themselves and also what Chico State was missing; an organization for academic excellence, civic responsibility and one's own self-improvement. Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. represented what a true sisterhood was supposed to be. Today, 10 years later, Mu Chapter at California State University Chico is 50 members strong and striving to continue the traditions and legacies that began with the eight women who brought LSG to Chico State.
